Arrived alive

We(finally) made it yesterday to California. I have to say I was very pessimistic about how the flight was going to go....but I stand corrected. Kendall was ABSOLUTELY wonderful on all three flights! We got to the airport early so that we could wear off some energy, must have worked because as soon as we got buckled in she fell asleep for the whole flight. Once in Charlotte we got a bite to eat, went to our next gate and played ball to get some more energy out. When we got on board, like clock work, as soon as she was buckled in she fell asleep. I was shocked. She slept for about two of the four hour flight to Phoenix. Once she was awake she was really good, had some snacks looked as some books and then watched some Little Einsteins. Everyone around us was very complimentary about how she was on the flight. Next we loaded up a small (only twelve rows) plane headed for Bakersfield. She was awake the entire flight till we landed, then she fell asleep!?!? Since the plane was so small I think the sound of the engine soothed her and even though she was awake she did great. She wasn't too warm to Terry when she first saw him. I think it was a combination of being tired (it was like 9 pm east coast time) and that she hasn't seen him in four weeks. But once the luggage came she was good to go. I was sure she would fall asleep as soon as we got to the hotel, but I fell asleep before she did. Terry said she feel asleep around 9 pacific time. She did great all night and didn't wake up til 8 so needless to say she isn't jet lagged at all. Today we are off to spend some quality time as a family and enjoy the scenery. It is beautiful here with the mountains all around us. I can only hope (and pray) that she is just as great on the way home Monday.

Check back next week for some pics of our trip.

California here we come

Tomorrow Kendall and I leave for California to go visit Terry. This will be the second time Kendall has been on an airplane. The last time she was only a few months old and saw still in the sleep all the time stage...um....not so much anymore. She is pretty much in the full speed ahead you can't keep me contained stage. SO needless to say it is going to be VERY interesting.

Me, Kendall, one stroller, one car seat, one checked bag, two carry on bags traveling alone cross country....sure to be priceless......

Be sure to watch the news this weekend for any reports of "Mom and baby removed from plane for being unruly and loud"

Drugs anyone?

Paparrazi

This is Kendall's reaction to the Paparazzi (a.k.a. crazy mom with the camera in her face) while she is trying to chill out on the way home from school.

Covering her face as to say "Enough already mom!"

I had to switch out the car seats in preparation for our trip to California. This seat is usually in the Jetta but in my car it leans much further back and for whatever reason Kendall always feels the need to hang her leg off to the side when riding in this seat.....

Hunting Eggs

Easter 2008

What a great day! I woke up and found a Easter Basket filled with eggs that had mini vanilla wafers in them (mom says I'm too young for candy) and some new pjs that have LADYBUGS on them! I love me some lady bugs. I think I'll just continue to chant BUGS BUGS BUGS when I wear them and drive my mom nuts. There was also a new Minnie Mouse that I get to take in the bath tub! Love it. After I ate 12 mini pancakes (I am a growing girl) had to take a bath with my new Minnie Mouse to get the syrup out of my hair. Then I did a little light reading while mom got ready. I got all dolled up and off to Grandma and Papa's house. We had a great lunch with the family and then it was time to go in the back yard and hang out while Uncle Rusty hid the eggs up front. I got to see all of the pretty flowers in the backyard. I really like to smell flowers. Finally it was time for the big hunt. Went out front and just stood there not knowing what to do. After a little coaching I figured it out. There were eggs everywhere and they were all mine!! Just to let everyone know what was going on I insisted on yelling EGG EGG every time I found an egg. It was great fun. I had a such a great day I didn't even take a nap! Hope you enjoy my slide show and had fantastic Easter. Love to you all.

Words Part Two

These last two months Kendall has really become more vocal. I really think it is a product of finally having surgery and clearing up the ear infections. She is learning a new word everyday and it is just amazing what she knows. I think her favorite word lately is "Clock." The girl loves the clock and will point one out when ever she sees one. We were in the car before Terry left and when she spotted the clock in the car she was so surprised and gasped and just started shouting "CLOCK, CLOCK" and pointing at it, it was so cute and funny. Now every time she gets in the car she points out the clock but it is so funny because the way she says it its like the fist time she has ever seen it. At my parents house she runs from room to room shouting clock and pointing them out. Her teacher said during circle time when they are going over the flashcards when they get to clock Kendall stands up and runs over to the clock on the wall and points at it and repeatedly shouts "CLOCK, CLOCK." I think I might go get her a watch this weekend, do they make baby watches?

She is also starting to put two words together. I guess the first one was "All Done" because they also learned the sign language to go along with it at school. Today she came home from school saying "Hey Guys." It is so cute and tried to get it on tape to share with you all.

Translation of the video below:
Hey Guys
All Done
Momma
I Love you
