COLLEGE FOOTBALL

Our FAVORITE time of year is finally here....COLLEGE FOOTBALL!!!!! This is a very serious and fun time in the Hinson household. Our rivalry wasn't such a big deal at first since we never thought Florida and Ohio would play each other...that was until the National Championship Game in 2007. Of course we had to go to the game and needless to say it was a long flight home from Arizona for Terry...but that is in the past and we are looking to the future. That includes ringing in the New Year in Miami where this years National Championship Game will be played....at least the trip home for Terry won't be nearly as long but unfortunately just as painful.

Love you honey. (Go Gators!)

To be fair we have to alternate outfits for Kendall to make sure we are both fairly represented. Since Terry is getting ready to go out of town again for a few weeks (and will miss the OSU v USC game!) I let Kendall wear her Ohio State outfit first, but that is OK since now she can wear her Gator gear on actual game day. So check back every Friday/Saturday for our weekly College Football fashion show.

Week 1
Gators v Hawaii
OSU v Youngstown State

I also got some new bloomers for Kendall made to go with her Gator/Ohio wardrobe. They are super cute...thanks Kathy!!!

Chopsticks

Kendall and I had noodles for dinner one night this week. She saw me using chopsticks and insisted she have some as well. What a sight that was. I must say however that she did give it a good try, but I think there were more noodles on the floor than made it to her mouth......Kendall you make your Nama proud!

OK mom I understand must use both "ticks"

But this way is so much easier

Yum finally made a few into my mouth!

GO BEARS

The boys are playing Pop Warner football this year. It is almost a full time job just to keep up with the different schedules and practices and games-of course they are on different teams just to make it a little more complicated. This weekend they had official weigh-in and team pictures. I can't believe they are getting so big.....

Road Trip

This was our first road trip with Kendall...we left too late Thursday night and only went about three hours and decided to get a hotel and travel the rest of the way early Friday morning. She fell asleep about an hour into the first trip and was awake for the rest of the trip on Friday. Thank goodness for portable DVD players....seriously how did we travel before without them????? Unfortunately my efforts to get Kendall familiar with the Disney Princesses has backfired...she wanted to watch the same Princess DVD over and over and over and over....I think we watched this DVD at a minimum 20 times over the course of the weekend. I think the boys can even recite the movie by now. Kendall is even singing along with the movie at this point (which is super cute by the way-while not on key she does manage to raise and lower her voice with the song and really tries to hit the high notes-Christina Aguilera she is not-but the effort is so cute).

We had her favorite, chocolate donuts, in the car on Friday morning...as the picture shows, she REALLY enjoyed them!

On Sunday she took an early nap, even though I tried to get her to stay up, and so for the ride home she was awake then entire time! Thankfully she did wonderful (because she had her Princess DVD) except for about 10 mins when we were about 20 miles from the house. And then right before we turned into the neighborhood she fell asleep....

Overall the road trip was a success and we are gearing up for another in November, this time we are braving it and driving to Ohio....lord help us she is past her Princess DVD phase and we can watch some different movies....

Amicalola

This weekend we went up to visit my sister and her family at their new place in Georgia. Saturday we all went up to Amicalola. They have these great "rapids" that you can go down in tubes or "body surf." The kids had a wonderful time and Kendall enjoyed it as well. The girl had no fear (unlike her momma) of the rushing water and slippery rocks.....

It was a great time and the best part is that it was free!

New Hair Do

BEFORE

AFTER

Kendall got her FIRST haircut today! We decided it was finally time to take care of the baby mullet she was sporting. We went to a children's boutique by the house called Doodle Doos. It is so cute, she got to sit in a train while getting her hair cut and was able to pick out a Princess movie to watch with getting her hair done. We tried not to take too much of the length off and more or less just even it up a bit in the back. She was great..until they turned the movie off when she was finished and the movie wasn't...but overall she did fantastic!

look at her lovely long sweaty locks of hair...

Sporting the comb over....her face says it all...um what is going on here??? momma?? dadda??

Oh hey look at the cute girl in the mirror...oh that's me...

Brushing all the knots in her dirty school hair....

Here we go...

and the first cut is made!
