So Cute

I never knew I could love someone so much.....even with a cheesy smile:)

Fisher Price Love

When I was a young girl many years ago I loved to play house. I had two Fisher Price playhouses that I would enjoy for hours on end. One was a tree that popped open to become a tree house. The other was an A-line cabin. They had all the accessories, beds, tables, chairs, pottys, cars and of course little people. I even had a camper trailer so they could go on vacation.

A few weeks ago I asked my mom if they still had that stuff and she said they gave them away long ago. I was a little bumbed about it because I thought Kendall would enjoy them.

Then my parents decided to clean out the attic......and look what they found

I was so excited to see them again and they were in great condition. I warmed my heart to look over and see this.....

I hope Kendall enjoys them as much as I did.

I looked on the bottom of the houses to see if I could figure out how old they were and they are dated 1972!!! They are as old as Terry! Those things are antiques;)

Valentines Day Flowers

Thanks Daddy for my pretty flowers. They smell pretty. Hope you get to come home next week!
Love you
Kendall

Twinkle, Twinkle

Last night we were on our way home and I decided to play a new CD in the car because I was a little tired of listening to the same songs over and over and over.....
Well the first song on the new disk wasn't too exciting so I skipped it. The next song started out a little slow and was just music, no words. Then from behind me I hear the sweetest little voice...

"Inkle Inkle ittle Star where you are"

It was so precious. She sang the entire song! Okay so she skipped a few words but this is the first entire song she has ever sang. I almost started to cry it was so cute in her little soft high pitch voice.

The next song was Baa Baa Black Sheep and she sang most of that one too! I was shocked she knew that one.

So because it was so cute and I wanted to hear it again I kept repeating the song and she just sang along each time all the way home.

I'm going to try to record it so I can save it forever....

I love that girl.

23 Degrees and Thankful

No I am NOT thankful for it being 23 degrees....however, I AM thankful that I have a garage to park in so I didn't have ice/frost on my car this morning. Come on this is Florida, like anyone actually has the correct tools to get that stuff off your car in the morning.

But I must admit that the pastures out by the house looked kinda pretty all ice/frosted over. Very serene. For a moment there I almost thought that we were still living in Rhode Island....but then I saw some palm trees up ahead and snapped back into reality.

Publix Grand Opening-1000th Store

Out where we live we have a new Publix store opening. It is quite a big deal around those parts because the only grocery store we have currently is a mini sized Publix (think of a Publix about the size of a CVS). It never has what you want and the selection is very sparse. So needless to say when we heard that we were finallly going to get a "full size" Publix it was all the talk. Plus it is the opening of the 1000th Publix store.

But come on people, it is 28 degrees outside, do you really need/want to stand in line for the Grand Opening so you can get a free grocery tote bag that in reality only costs $1.00????

Yes, this morning when I drove by on my way to work the parking lot was PACKED and people were lined up out front. This was at 7:10....the store doesn't even open till 8:00. Come on, really?

First Trip to the Dentist

Last Friday Kendall went to the dentist for the first time. I had ABSOLUTELY no expectations on how she was going to do. It is touch and go daily when we try to brush her teeth. Some days she is all excited about it and others, well those days we just don't brush them. I've tried everything. She has three different types of toothbrushes and tried two different types of toothpaste and nothing seems to have done the trick yet. So needless to say, I was so not looking forward to this appointment. To top it off, Terry is out of town so I didn't even have any moral support on this one.

After a thorough search we selected a very kid friendly dentist office. For the last four weeks we have read "Dora says Ahhhh" every night before bed. If Dora can do it Kendall can too, right? At least that was what I was shooting for.
I was pumping up the dentist visit all week long making is sound like it was going to be SO MUCH FUN. In hindsight, I think I was really just trying to convince myself.

D day finally arrived. We got to the dentist office and she walked right in and took a seat up front to watch The Little Mermaid that was showing on the big tv. So far so good I'm thinking. In a fairly timely manner they call us to the back, again I'm thinking okay this is going good so far (need to insert here that Kendall is a little impatient and does not like to wait). We then go a back waiting room. Ugh, now I'm starting to get a little anxious with the waiting. There are some windows so you can see all the other patients getting their teeth cleaned. There are like 6 stations or so in this one big room and each chair has its own tv in the ceiling. I picked Kendall up so that she could see the other kids getting their teeth cleaned and commenting on what big kids they are and look how good they are doing. She seemed interest for all of about 2 seconds. Now she is starting to bounce off the walls a bit while waiting. Finally they call us and take us to a little room off the side-I guess it was just in case she had a breakdown it wasn't in front of all the others. Kendall does great, sits in my lap and lays back and checks out some movie in the ceiling. She more or less opened her mouth when asked and the hygienist was able to inspect her teeth and get them brushed. Thankfully they brushed her teeth with a little toothbrush instead of the polish tool...I was a little worried how she would do with the sound. Okay first part down and now we just need to see the dentist.....so we wait...and Wait...and WAIT! Kendall is REALLY impatient at this point and is ready to break out of this little room and get going already. We were at the dentist office so it wasn't like I could bribe her with candy.

After what seemed an eternity the dentist finally comes in and by then it was too late, the window of opportunity had passed us by and Kendall wanted no part. She did not cooperate at all for the exam. The dentist was able to get a good enough look to see that her teeth are coming in great, spacing is good and one of her 2 yr molars is on the way in.

Things are good, continue doing what we are doing and try to limit the thumb sucking (um, okay, yeah I'll get right on that one). Come back in a year. Thank goodness because I don't think I can do this again in 6 months!

Sorry no pics, it was stressful enough that I didn't want to add the pressure of trying to get her to smile for a picture....plus I forgot the camera at work.

Kendallism

Friday on the way to work (oh by the way, Kendall goes to work, NOT to school-or at least that is what she says)

Kendall: Mommy your car is dirty!
Me: Yeah, maybe daddy will wash it when he gets back in town.
Kendall: Yeah, it needs a bubble bath! Very dirty.
Me: Thanks baby.
