Silence

Tonight on the way home from church Kendall was in RARE form:

Terry and I were having a discussion about the lesson and from the back we hear:
Kendall: Please Daddy be quiet
Me and Terry: Laughing
Kendall: Please Mommy be quiet
Me and Terry: Still laughing
Kendall: It is quiet time
Me and Terry: Still laughing
Kendall: Be quiet, you are hurting my ears
Me and Terry: Laughing even harder
Kendall: Be quiet!

We rode the rest of the way home in slience with me and Terry quietly laughing.

The girl is crazy I tell you!

RED means STOP

How is it I find myself (and Terry too) in heated conversations with our 2 1/2 year old daughter about driving? She is the ultimate back-seat driver! I don't know who she gets that from (her father would point to me). When we are approaching a red light she starts yelling "RED MEANS STOP...STOP..STOP" and continues until you actually stop regardless of whether or not the light/intersection is still 30 yards away. She really enjoys it when you stop so that it jerks her slightly. It always makes her giggle.

Don't even try to make a right hand turn on red, that just totally sets her off. Do you know how impossible it is to rationalize that concept with a 2 year old.

Me: Yes Kendall, I know red means stop, but you are allowed to make a right hand turn on red.
Kendall: RED MEANS STOP...STOP...STOP...
Me: Okay Kendall, I understand but Mommy is allowed to make the right hand turn on red.
Kendall: NO RED MEANS STOP...STOP...STOP...
etc. till she finds something else that peaks her interest.


Not a fun conversation.

Kendallisms

Kendall is quite the chatter box these days.....here are a few snapshot of some conversations with her:

Kendall: Look at the mountain, that is Boo Boo Mountain (it was a dirt hill)
Terry: That is the biggest mountain in Jacksonville
Kendall: No in the world!

(Background: a few weeks ago we were in the car and Kendall got some chocolate on her arm, since I was driving I couldn't help her wipe it off, so I told her to lick it off-since she was freaking out about- so now she is fascinated with licking things off her hands and fingers....)
We were in the car on the way home from Atlanta and Kendall stuck her finger up her nose (I know I know) and when she pulled it out she said, "look a booger!" I quickly turned around and tried to give her a napkin to wipe her hands off but before I could do it she said, "I lick it off!" We all (me, Terry, and the boys) all yelled out "NO!" but it was too late and she got her feelings hurt and started crying. It was so funny (not the licking the booger off) but her reaction to us. These days she has become a little sensitive and whenever you raise your voice at her she gets upset and her feelings get hurt. Then we were all laughing and I think that just made her more upset because she was embarrassed.


While we were at the outlet mall every store we passed Kendall would yell out..."Look mom, no heads!" She is referring to the mannequins in the windows. Then a moment later she said, "That's terrible." We, and everyone around us, were falling out laughing at her. She is so crazy and the things she says.....

Easter 2009

This morning we went to Easter service with the boys and Kendall to a new church we are visisting. Kendall was so cute in her new Easter dress and the boys cleaned up well. It is still a challenge to get a good picture of all them together....one day.




After church we took the boys home and went to to have lunch with my parents. Since Kendall was the only kid, by default she won the easter egg hunt. We definatley did not make it challenging enough for her. Now we know for next year....she easily found them all and was once again running around yelling egg...egg...egg just like she did last year. Too cute.

Spring Break 2009

This year the boys had Spring Break the same week as my niece and nephew in Atlanta so we packed up the family and headed north for Spring Break. Harley went to the vet to have a little surgery done while we were gone. We had his dew claws removed because he has been scratching up his face with them.

We went up on Tuesday night and on Wednesday we just hung out. Thursday we headed up to Six Flags and I think the entire metro Atlanta was there too!! It was PACKED. Apparently it was the first nice dry day and everyone was on Spring Break so I guess we all had the same idea. Since Wendie had neck surgery a few months ago she couldn't ride any rides so it worked out well since we had Kendall with us. Kendall fell asleep for the first part of the visit. But in the afternoon she did great! They had a Thomas Town and she got to ride the Thomas Train, a BIG hit. Then Sir Tophamhat came out and greeted the kids. Love that too. Then she did great on the kiddie rides. The girl has no fear. I can tell that she is going to be coaster lover when she gets tall enough. The rides for the coasters were crazy! Lets just say that we were at the park for about 7 hours and Rusty, Terry and the kids only rode 2 coaster and 1 other ride! I was actually glad that I didn't have to stand in line with them! But overall it was a great time and it was a good test to see how Kendall would do with the rides. Friday the girls went up to an outlet mall in North Georgia while the boys went to the movies. Saturday we headed out early so that we could pick Harley up from the vet.
