I'm blogging from the recliner with my new snuggie recovering from my 23 mile run. I met up with 2 other girls from my pace group to do our 23 mile run today instead of Saturday since the weather doesn't look so great. We did really well and finished around 5 hours and 20 mins or so. Overall the run was great, but my knees were really starting to ache the last 3 miles. I did feel however that I could have ran another 3 miles to actually finish a marathon so that was very reassuring. I've been doubting it lately if I will actually be able to finish (within the time limit). After today, however, I'm confident I can do it!
Gotta go get some ice now. I'm exhausted!

Christmas 2009
What a wonderful Christmas! The Parrish family came down the weekend before Christmas so we were able to celebrate early with them. It was great to see everyone! On Monday before Christmas we had Christmas Cookie day at the house. It was the first time Kendall has done cookies, she enjoyed it for all of about 10 mins.
Christmas Eve I wanted to take Kendall to see Princess and the Frog and visit Santa but she didn't want to do either-she just wanted to stay home and play with her boys. So Keyan watched her and Terry and I went to the movies:)
Christmas day was a great wonderful. The boys each got an iTouch. So they spent the rest of the day addicted to selecting songs and finding new apps. Kendall got some princess dolls and lots of other princess paraphernalia and some Dora stuff. She also got her first board games. Her favorite so far is HiHo Cherry-O-she wins like everytime we play. We aren't having too much luck yet with Candy Land or Chutes and Ladders, but we are working on it. She is doing pretty good with Memory too- but we only use like 6 sets of cards or otherwise it would be way overwhelming for her.
The day after Christmas I was finally able to talk Kendall into going to the movies (her first). The two of us went to see Princess and the Frog and Terry and the boys saw The New Moon. Kendall was a huge fan of the popcorn! She lasted about half way through the movie till she fell asleep. It was nap time so I wasn't totally suprised. I sat and held her in the theater till the boys movie was over.
I'll try to get some pics up soon.

Nutcracker 2009
This year I took Kendall to her first Nutcracker performance. It was a tricky move since it started at 2:30 so that meant no nap....so she wasn't too cooperative for any pictures. This is the best shot I was able to get, in the parking lot. She wouldn't take any pictures with me before we left :(

She loved it and was amazed by the "big girl ballerinas" but was ready to go home after the first act. Good thing the tickets were free :)

Jam Session
Here is a glimpse of a regular occurrence in the Hinson household. I have a feeling she is going to be a karaoke queen when she gets older. Can't hear her too well in the video, but just check out those moves!

20 miles?
Well I gave it my best shot but fell a little short last Friday night. I only ended up doing 16.79 miles with average pace 12 min mile. Not too bad but not 20 miles either. I've never had a problem with muscle fatigue in my past runs, but Friday night I just couldn't go any further! My muscles were screaming....it was the first time I felt like crying during a run and almost contemplated calling Terry to come get me because I didn't think I would be able to drive home. I sucked it up and drove myself home with a stop at Publix to pick up some chocolate milk and a large bag of ice. When i finally got home around 9:30 (okay who in their right mind runs that late at night, on a Friday night nonetheless?) Kendall was so excited we were doing another ice bath-me not so much-but knew that it would eventually (key word here) make me feel better. I was whiny the entire 10 minutes and Kendall was so sweet patting my hand and kissing my cheek and sweetly saying to me that "its gonna be okay momma, I'm here for you". As much as I hate it, the ice bath does make my legs recover quicker. I felt pretty good on Saturday and had my last official physical therapy appointment on Monday. I'm discharged unless things go south again, which I'm hoping they will not.
Well gearing up for the 1/2 marathon this Sunday....checked the weather and looks like its going to be dry but pretty cold Sunday morning. Be sure to check back next week for my first race re-cap!
