Memorial Day

With Terry off on another "adventure" Kendall and I went to my parents house for a cook out on Memorial Day. Kendall is infatuated with Flags. Everyday at drop off and pick up at school she says "Mornin Flag" and "Bye-bye Flag". She was running around the yard with a flag my parents had in the flower garden and was repositioning it around the yard.

Here is one of my favorite pics of Kendall and Papa.......

Pool Party

Today we went to a Going Away Pool Party for my sister and her family at one of their friends house. They have a fantastic pool on the river and the weather was perfect! For those of you that don't already know, my sister and her family are moving to Kennesaw Georgia next month-well actually in two and a half weeks. They just got a contract on their house last night and they just put it on the market three weeks ago! This was our first time in the water this season and I wasn't sure what to expect from her. It was a little touch and go at the beginning but she did great. There are these water spouts on each side of the pool that shoot water out over the pool, I think Kendall was more excited about them and had more fun playing with the water spouts than the actual pool.

Kendall also went ALL DAY without a nap, a first for her! She was up at 9 this morning and fell asleep on the way home around 7:30....

I'm excited about the summer ahead and trying out the beach too!!

Pink Chucks

We picked up Kendall some pink Converse tennis shoes a few weeks ago and she is obsessed with them (not sure why but my guess is because they are her only shoes with actual laces or maybe she really loves the color pink). Last week I picked out this cute pink flower dress for her to wear when we went her doctor appointments and she INSISTED (translation: screamed NO when I attempted to put any other shoe on her) that she wear her pink Converse tennis shoes....I guess the combo didn't turn out too bad, looks kinda cute actually.

Another Tube

Well, we went to the Doctors today (both the primary and ENT) and the verdict is in.....Monday we go back to surgery to get a tube put in the left ear. We took gamble the first time around by not getting one in the left ear since that ear was never infected, but just as soon as Kendall got the right ear tube, the left ear flared up and has been a problem ever since. While I know that the tubes don't guarantee no ear infections, at least they help to alleviate the pain and pressure when they do come. It will also allow us to use ear drops instead of oral antibiotics if and when an infection does appear.

Kendall absolutely HATES any type of antibiotic!! She will drink a bottle of Motrin or Tylenol-she will even willingly put her tongue out for a Benadryl strip (on a side note, I think all child medications should be offered in strips, stick it on their tongue and there is no spitting that sucker out), but try to give her some "yummy" flavored amoxicillin and watch out-she will actually swing at you and run away screaming when she sees the syringe! We have tried putting in in her food and drink but she immediaely spits it out- she is one smart cookie. We tried to bribe her with candy-since she never gets any- and that didn't even work (I think she may still be a little young for that, maybe it will work in the future). It is a battle and almost not worth giving to her sometimes.

So here we go again and we are hoping for another successful surgery on Monday. Please keep up in your thoughts and prayers.

Favorite Animal T Shirt Day

When I asked Kendall who her favorite animal was she yelled

BUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUBBAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

So of course she had to wear Bubba on her shirt today to school.
