ZOO

Last weekend we had our first trip to the Zoo. It was a wonderful day and Kendall really enjoyed it. The weather was perfect and it was a great way to spend our last weekend with Terry before he left for California again. We waited to take her because we wanted her to know some of the animals before we went to make it more engaging and fun. We are looking forward to more visits. Surprisingly I think the part she enjoyed the most was the snake exhibit....the girl is crazy!

Slide Part 2

So today was another beautiful day outside and I was able to leave the office early:) I went to vote and picked Kendall up early from school so we could have some play time. We went to the park on the way home. I was trying to direct Kendall to the "little" kids play set but she was not having it. She insisted that she wanted to go the "big" kids play set. I lifted her up to the first level and she was off all the way up to the top in no time flat. There is this big twisty slide on the play set.

And before I knew it down she went!

I was freaked out because we always go down this one together.....apparently not anymore....she has no fear....my little girl is growing up more and more everyday.

Slide

Yesterday afternoon it was so pretty outside and Kendall seemed to be in good spirits so we went up to the park. Here are few pics of the BIG GIRL going down the slide all by herself! Before I would hold her hand and she would slide down on her bottom. Today I tried to do that and she violently shook her head and said "no" then proceeded to turn on her tummy and slide down feet first. I was so shocked I had to get out the phone to take some pics to show her off. She is so proud of herself when she gets to the bottom.....

(No her face isn't really on the slide, she is really laughing here...)

Surgery Update

The surgery went extremely well. We got the hospital at 6:15am but they didn't take Kendall back till almost 8:00. She was starving and starting to get a little fussy. Luckily it was finally our turn and the nurse took her back to the OR to get some sleepy gas...by the time mom and I made it to the waiting room and took a seat the Dr. came out to get us and bring us to the recovery area. He said she had an infection in her right ear so there may be some more "goo" coming out than normal but it was to be expected since it is infected. He also said he took a good look at her left ear while she was under and it looked perfect. We cross our fingers that her lingering ear problem doesn't migrate to the left ear......we go back in 4 weeks (assuming nothing happens between now and then) for a hearing test and final check up.

Overall Kendall did outstanding. The only time she was a mess was when mom and I were trying to put her earrings back in.....

By this afternoon we were outside playing and you couldn't even tell she had anything done.

Thanks to you all for keeping us in your thoughts.

PS Will try to put some new pics up this week....

15 Month Check up

Kendall went for her 15 month well visit on Monday. She is looking good and developing within her age range. She weighed in at 21 pounds and 30 inches. Still pretty petite for her age but doing great. After the pediatrician visit we went to see the ear, nose and throat doctor to get her ears checked out again....the verdict is is...we will be going to surgery on Monday (the 28th) to but a tube in her right ear. Her left ear has never been infected so the doctor doesn't want to mess with it. He assured me that this was a minor procedure and the entire thing will take about ten minutes. They will give Kendall a little gas to get her to relax and to go to sleep and then will be in and out in no time.
Terry is still out of town so my mom is coming with us early Monday morning. Keep Kendall in your thoughts (everyone keeps telling me that it is minor and no need to worry, but she is my baby!)Will try to update on Monday with how it all wen

I was finally able to get a BOW in Kendall's hair!!!!
These are from today, but she wore her first bow to school yesterday. I wasn't expecting it to last very long, but the teacher said she made it almost the entire day with it in!!! So of course I had to do it again today...and probably for the rest of the week. I guess that means I'll be shopping for hairbows soon!!!!

December

What a whirlwind it has been the last month. With Terry gone the time seems to just fly by and there just are not enough hours in the day. Sorry the posting has been so scarce, but by the time Kendall gets to bed, I'm ready for bed too. Well Terry was able to be home for three weeks. The boys were with us for a week. Kendall really enjoyed having them around, she just followed them everywhere and laughed at whatever they were doing.

The everlasting ear infection is still around. We ended up having to go to the Doctor on New Years Eve to get some meds. She is doing better but I'm so over it already.

Terry left last week and is now in California till mid February. So far Kendall had done really well with the adjustment which is a relief. Last week Kendall also started a new class. She was promoted to the one year old class. I can already see that she is loving being with the older kids. She is signing more then ever now and is quite the dancer. The teachers were telling me today that even when the music has stopped, Kendall keeps on dancing. She is quite the free spirit. She has mastered the stairs on the playground and is almost going down the slide on her own. We are working on using our utensils during meal time. It has become quite a challenge. She will hold the fork or spoon with one hand and continue to feed herself with her other hand. I think that now being around the older kids and seeing them will encourage her.

We go back to the dr for more shots next week and also a trip to the ear doctor to see if we can get Kendall's ears tubed to clear up the infections. Check back to see the stats and to see if we are going to get some relief from the ear infections anytime in the near future...fingers crossed.
